AcuPages.com Q&A

Q: Why did you decide to be an acupuncturist?
I chose to become an acupuncturist because I saw first-hand the amazing corrective and preventative capabilities of Chinese Medicine. Everyday that I practice this medicine I am amazed at the potential to treat a wide variety of conditions naturally and effectively. As I continued my studies I feel that my specialties picked me rather than me picking them. I found I was especially effective in treating things like depression, insomnia, digestive disorders and cancer/chemo complications.
Q: What work/education experience makes you a better acupuncturist ?
This medicine is very humbling because there is always something more to learn or a way to be even more effective. I continue my studies through continuing education classes, books and apprenticeships.
Q: What about your personal interests?
Before I became an Acupuncturist I was living in Hawaii studying and working as a Marine Biologist. My first love will always be the ocean and especially sharks! I try to stay updated on current events that concern shark relations. In the last year, I have also added triathlete to my resume and I hope to continue to compete in them (and similar races) and improve each time! Other interests include being outdoors, spending time with my family and going to movies with my amazing husband.
