Practice Description
Madeline Villani, Dipl. L.Ac., R.P.A.C., is licensed and board certified both as an acupuncturist and physician assistant with over 15 years' experience in medicine and surgery. She has achieved both academic and clinical achievement awards. She graduated SUNY Stonybrook with a B.S. in Science and Physician Assistant education; she received her Masters Degree in Acupuncture at the New York College of Health Professions. She was inspired to further her skills and training due to the limitations of western medicine and the side effects that medications can have. Western medicine treats symptoms (the "branch"), whereas Eastern medicine treats the cause (the "root")and picks up weaknesses in the body's systems long before disease sets in. Acupuncture is wonderful because it is effective and very safe. Patients report feeling very relaxed with increased sense of well-being after treatments. Take advantage of this ancient healing art and call for your free consultation. North Shore Acupuncture has a comforting, spa-like atmosphere and is conveniently located less than 3 minutes off Sagtikos Pkwy and 25A, Kings Park, New York.

AcuPages.com Q&A

Q: Why did you decide to be an acupuncturist?
Many years ago, my mother was diagnosed with Stage C2 colon cancer. She opted to have surgery and chemo for six months. During this time, she also had weekly acupuncture treatments. After several months, I asked her acupuncturist, "Does that really work?". She asked me if I suffer from any ailments-- she treated me for carpal tunnel syndrome and ulnar nerve neuritis. I was floored by the results. For 2 years, after my experience, I sent patients for acupuncture in my family practice office, where I worked as a P.A. I finally decided to continue my studies, due to my increasing frustrations with western medicine. It was one of the best decisions I ever made.
