Herbal Treatment For Food Allergies

Allergic reactions to foods occur when the body reacts violently to foods or other seemingly benign substances. The immune system treats these as they are a foreign body, causing an allergic reaction to that substance. Reactions to food will occur within two hours of ingesting it and cause symptoms such as hives, itching, and swelling of areas including the face, mouth and tongue. Other symptoms include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. Less common symptoms that have been reported include sinus congestion, headaches, frequent earaches and bedwetting.

Acupuncture May Be Beneficial For Hormonal Imbalance

Recently western medicine has been looking for and actively embracing alternative methods to help with disorders that cause hormonal imbalances in women. These are problems that have not been improved by medications and other traditional treatment. Physicians are concentrating on treatment such as acupuncture and herbal therapy on issues such as endometriosis and polycystic ovarian syndrome. Recently such a clinical research study was done at the University of Virginia Health System. This study followed women who had acupuncture treatments. The study was designed to see if this treatment would improve symptoms related to polycystic ovarian syndrome. One of the main things they were looking for was whether acupuncture would help women to have regular periods and in turn increase their fertility.

Acupuncture for Eye Twitching Sickness

Constant eye twitching can be a very frustrating and aggravating thing to experience. This condition has many causes but few successful treatments. Some neurosurgeons may try injecting Botox into the muscles surrounding the eye in order to try to stop the twitching but the success of this is limited at best. Is acupuncture effective for eye twitching?
