TCM Makes Aging Less Intense
TCM
or Traditional Chinese Medicine works with the theory that a person’s health depends on each individual organ working together to create a whole organic being. This encompasses the mind, body and spirit. Each organ or system works independently but also in conjunction with one another. TCM teaches that aging is a progressive and degenerative process that takes place in the body. Its theory is that by the time a person has reached the age of 40 aging has caused half of the qi or life energy to be lost.
The first signs of aging in women will show up in the facial area. Men will notice their first signs when they start losing hair or they will notice loose teeth. The next signs of aging will be seen in the orifices which include the eyes, nose, mouth, ears, urethra, anus and vagina. The next symptom seen will be signs of mental decline.
For this reason it is recommended to use preventative measures to slow down the ravages of aging. The recommended regimen includes eating a good nutritional diet, making sure a person is well hydrated, and sleeping adequate amounts on a regular basis. In the emotional area, practitioners state that people wanting to look and feel younger should keep a positive attitude and refrain from being in environments that are extremely stressful or bombard the person with constant stimuli.
TCM has a treatment plan that works to combat the signs and symptoms of aging. The anti-aging plan has three separate components. These are working with the skin, slow down physical aging, and retard the effects of mental deterioration that are due to aging. These treatment plans are designed separately but need to be used in conjunction with each other. In order to get benefit from the regimen, all of the aspects of aging must be addressed.
Some herbs that can be used to prevent aging of the skin can include Siberian ginseng, ginko leaf, raspberry fruit, wolfberry fruit, and black sesame. Herbs that can be used to delay physical aging include black sesame, wolfberry fruit, black sesame, and walnut. Mental health can be improved by using wolfberry fruit, wormwood, turtle shell, and angelica root. If someone is interested in pursuing an herbal formula for anti-aging, it is recommended that they contact a TCM practitioner in order to get a treatment plan specifically designed for them.
